Judging Process

The Anthology Selection Process

After the final entry deadline, our entry management software allocates entries randomly to our editors. The entries are allocated anonymously – i.e. the editors do not see the author’s name or any other information about the author. Each entry is assessed by one editor only in order to preserve editorial independence. The editor reads all of the entries that have been allocated to her and selects a number of poems for the Global Poetry Anthology.

The Prize Selection Process

After approximately 50 poems have been selected by the editors for the anthology, the prize judge reads those poems and selects the winner of the prize. As with the anthology selection process, the prize judge does not see the names of the authors or any other information about them before making his or her selection.
